Thanks to you guys, we now have enough people signed up that we can do a calendar for 2007 AND 2008. You guys are just awesome.
Some of you posted questions and concerns at the size requirements, layouts and use of images, in the last thread, so in response goldberry
worked on the samples over the weekend and this is what came out of it.Size Information: (An 8x10 piece of paper is 2400x3000 pixels)Vertical FormatPortrait Calendar SampleThe image used in this sample is 2400X1800 pixels, which causes some overlap and thus the fade effect was used.. and the image can be seen under the calendar grid.
If you don't want any overlap of the image and grid, then the image size needs to be 2400x1278. Any smaller of this and a gap will be left between the image and grid.
Landscape Calendar Sample
We are still having problems with this format. Images can be the full 8x10 (2400x300) and we'd do a fade of the image (about 2000x1437 of the image) for the grid. Our sample was done with this method.
DPI aka Dots Per Inch
goldberry has checked that the images need to be 300dpi for use in the calendar.
These are our first cut requirements. Berry and I (more Berry than me) are working on trying to reduce the size of the calendar grid so that it doesn't interfere too much with the images... aka, we trying to preserve your original work as much as possible, so these 'requirements' might be adjusted a little bit. By changing the proportions of the grid, we might be able to open up more space on the landscape format for the image.
Of course, on the final product, the grid will be smoothed and detailed (aka prettied up) and numbers and text will be added. These are just some very plain and simple samples so you can get a visual of what we were/are planning.
Any thoughts? Let us know.
